Supervisor of Credit Recovery, Kristen Shepherd

Kristen Shepherd is a 2004 graduate of The University of Georgia where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education. In 2009, she earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Walden University, and in 2013, she earned a specialist in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. She previously taught mathematics at Grayson High School and was the Lead Mathematics Teacher for Georgia Virtual School (GaVS). She also worked on the GaVS Student Support Team before taking on the responsibilities of Supervisor of Credit Recovery for The Georgia Credit Recovery Program. Kristen enjoys working with The Georgia Credit Recovery Program, because it offers a unique educational opportunity to all Georgia students.
Kristen resides in Alpharetta with her husband, Jason, and their three boys.

Credit Recovery Administrative Assistant, Karen Kennedy
Karen Kennedy is a 2004 graduate of Kennesaw State University where she earned a B.S in Sociology. Karen previously worked in hospitality management before making the switch to education. Karen joined the Georgia Virtual team in its early years and has been with Ga Credit Recovery for 12 years now as Administrative Assistant and Kristen’s right hand lead. Along with supporting students for GaCR, she also supports the GaVS Administrative Team and GaVS students. Karen enjoys working with the Ga Credit Recovery program, because she sees the benefit and reward the program has to offers its students.
Karen resides in Roswell with her husband, Matthew, and their daughter Anslee. Their eldest is off to DC for grad school.
